First-Team Roster

The Inter Miami roster for the 2025 MLS season boasts 28 players at first-team head coach Javier Mascherano’s disposal. The Chase Stadium natives’ senior squad features three goalkeepers, 11 defenders, 7 midfielders and 7 forwards.

Inter Miami goalkeepers

Drake Callender

Inter Miami acquired Drake Callender from the San Jose Earthquakes in view of their maiden MLS season in December 2019. The Herons gave up the first pick of the second round of the 2020 MLS SuperDraft and $150k in General Allocation Money to get the UC Berkeley alumni.

Oscar Ustari

First signed as an emergency back up in 2024, Oscar Usatri made his Miami move permanent the following year.

Rocco Rios Novo

Inter Miami signed young shot-stopper Rocco Rios Novo in January 2025. He has previously played for the likes of Atlanta United and Phoenix Rising.

Inter Miami defenders

Gonzalo Lujan

Having previously been coached by Mascherano before, Gonzalo Lujan would again link up with his former manager at Inter Miami in January 2025.

Maximiliano Falcon

In January 2025, Miami managed to secure the signature of highly-rated Chilean defender Maxi Falcon.

David Martinez

Joining from Argentine giants River Plate, David Martinez was signed in an attempt to bolster Miami’s defensive ranks.

Tomas Aviles

Inter Miami utilised Major League Soccer’s Under-22 initiative to sign Tomas Aviles in August 2023. The defender moved to the US from the Argentine side, Racing Club, and took up one of Vice City’s international roster slots. He made his debut against Cincinnati in August 2023.

Ryan Sailor

Inter Miami selected Ryan Sailor with the ninth overall pick of the 2022 MLS SuperDraft. The University of Washington alumni agreed to his initial contract for Vice City in February 2022. The Colorado native made his MLS bow against Charlotte FC in May 2022 under Phil Neville.

Jordi Alba

Inter Miami acquired Jordi Alba after the 2010 World Cup winner with Spain withdrew from his contract with FC Barcelona. The left-back agreed to terminate his deal at Camp Nou and move to the US in July 2023 after 11 years, a Champions League title and six La Liga honors.

Noah Allen

Inter Miami promoted Noah Allen to their roster in March 2022 after signing the left-back to a first-team contract. The Pembroke Pines, Florida native was the fourth product of the Inter Miami Academy. He first joined the Herons’ set-up in 2019 fresh out of Weston FC Academy.

Yannick Bright

Inter Miami used their first-round pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft to take University of New Hampshire senior, Yannick Bright. The Italian, who is from Milan, was the 15th overall pick in the draft – held in December 2023 – and signed his contract with the Herons in March 2024.

Tyler Hall

Inter Miami promoted from within to improve the first-team roster in January 2024 as Tyler Hall graduated from Vice City’s academy. The former Weston FC prospect signed on to be a Homegrown Player following his inclusion in the MLS NEXT All-Star team for the 2023 term.

Marcelo Weigandt

Inter Miami secured a loan transfer from Boca Juniors for Marcelo Weigandt in March 2024 for that year’s MLS season. The Herons’ deal also included an option to keep the right-back through 2025. Vice City chiefs moved to get Weigandt’s arrival after trading DeAndre Yedlin.

Israel Boatwright

Inter Miami made Israel Boatwright the club’s ninth academy graduate to secure a first-team contract with his promotion to the senior roster in January 2024. He signed as a Homegrown Player as the Heron sought to recognize his work in their academy since the club’s inception.

Inter Miami midfielders

Telasco Segovia

Telasco Segovia’s impressive performances in Portugal attracted the interest of Miami in January 2025. The midfielder is highly rated in South America having featured for the Venezuelan national team on a number of occasions.

Sergio Busquets

Inter Miami signed Sergio Busquets for their roster in July 2023. The 2010 World Cup winner with Spain had earlier announced in May 2022 that the midfielder was leaving FC Barcelona after 18 years. He lifted three Champions Leagues and nine La Ligas as a Blaugrana product.

Julian Gressel

Inter Miami signed Julian Gressel during free agency in January 2024 following his departure from Columbus Crew. The versatile USMNT star had helped the Crew win the 2023 MLS Cup for his second medal, after winning it in 2018 with Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino at Atlanta United.

Benjamin Cremaschi

Inter Miami promoted Benjamin Cremaschi to the roster at Chase Stadium in November 2022. The midfielder joined the Herons’ fold as an Academy alumni after agreeing to sign a first-team contract. The Key Biscayne, Florida native made his MLS debut in February 2023.

David Ruiz

Inter Miami signed Academy alumni David Ruiz to his debut first-team contract in April 2023 as a Homegrown Player. The Miami native had already enjoyed his Herons debut under Phil Neville in March 2023. He featured against Chicago Fire as a substitute in the 82nd minute.

Lawson Sunderland

Inter Miami signed Lawson Sunderland to his first-team contract in September 2023 after 19 months with their MLS NEXT Pro B-team. The midfielder showed dedication for Inter Miami CF II after returning to America from Spain to take a spot in their roster at Chase Stadium.

Federico Redondo

Inter Miami signed Federico Redondo from Argentinos Juniors to improve the midfield in the first-team roster in February 2024. The Madrid, Spain-born Argentinian joined the Herons as a U22 signing at a cost of $8m. Redondo is viewed to be Sergio Busquets’ natural successor.

Santiago Morales

Inter Miami signed Academy alumni Santiago Morales as a Homegrown Player in September 2023. The midfielder moved into the first-team roster at Chase Stadium after showing an immense deal of potential for Vice City’s Academy since joining the Herons’ project early on.

Tadeo Allende

Tadeo Allende was one of the first signings of the Mashcerano era, arriving from La Liga side Celta Vigo.

Fafa Picault

Mascherano’s first signing as Miami boss was the acquisition of MLS veteran Fafa Picault. The winger is vastly experienced in the US having previously featured for the likes of Nashville SC and Houston Dynamo.

Luis Suarez

Inter Miami signed a modern football great in December 2023 as Luis Suarez joined the first-team roster as a free agent after departing the Brazilian club, Gremio. The Uruguay hero left Gremio on the back of winning the Serie A’s Golden Ball award as its best player. Suarez also won the Golden Boot in the English Premier League in 2013/14 with Liverpool and Spain’s La Liga at FC Barcelona in 2015/16. He also lifted the 2014/15 Champions League at Barcelona.

Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi agreed to his groundbreaking transfer to Inter Miami in July 2023 after deciding to leave Paris Saint-Germain. The Herons secured, arguably, the greatest player of all time in the 2022 World Cup winner. The Argentina legend has won eight Ballon d’Or honors, led FC Barcelona to four Champions League plus 10 La Liga titles and took PSG to two Ligue 1 titles.

Robert Taylor

Inter Miami bolstered their roster with a transfer for Robert Taylor from the Norwegian side, Sportsklubben Brann, in February 2022. Phil Neville targeted the winger’s move to acquire a forward who can also play as a midfielder. The Finland international added a creative threat.

Emerson Rodriguez

Inter Miami utilized MLS’ U22 initiative in January 2022 to sign Emerson Rodriguez from the Colombian giants, Millonarios Futbol Club. The forward switched to Chase Stadium after his eight goals and nine assists in 57 games for Millos. He has had time away out on loan since.

Leo Afonso

Inter Miami promoted Leo Afonso from their academy to the first-team roster in April 2024. He initially joined the Herons’ academy via the second round of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft as the 32nd overall pick from the Virginia Cavaliers as a three-time captain and regular scorer.
