Inter Miami teenager David Ruiz has detailed his amazement over the connection Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have on the pitch.
The former FC Barcelona duo started for the Herons yesterday in their second pre-season match against FC Dallas, with Inter Miami coming out of Texas with a 1-0 loss.
With Messi and Suarez once again failing to find the net, some questions might be raised by fans and pundits over whether the duo can succeed together at Inter Miami.
Yet speaking to the Miami Herald, teenage prospect Ruiz revealed his awe in watching the two soccer legends play together, with Messi and Suarez still having an almost telepathic understanding.
Indeed, a full pre-season with no injuries will get the South American attackers clicking together, and Ruiz’s comments prove that Messi and Suarez still have it in them to dominate.
The 19-year-old said: “I am learning from the way they combine, like they did in Barcelona, how they read each other and how they get to the final third.”

With just two pre-season games together, it’s fairly easy to see why most level-headed fans aren’t losing their minds yet over Messi and Suarez not scoring for Inter Miami.
Although the duo are brilliant together, it has been some years since Messi and Suarez played on the same team, with the pair also getting used to new surroundings with the MLS franchise.
As a result Inter Miami need to patient with the South American veterans, with Messi and Suarez aware that they will find that spark sooner rather than later heading into the new season.
