Lionel Messi has now given a prediction on if he will be fit enough to play for Inter Miami tomorrow against Vissel Kobe.

The Argentine superstar missed the Herons’ last pre-season friendly in Hong Kong, causing mass outrage as club chairman David Beckham was booed and official government warnings were issued.

As a result, a lot of pressure is now on Inter Miami to field the forward for their final international pre-season friendly against Vissel Kobe, and Messi himself has now given an update on his chances of playing.

Messi said to the press when asked about his fitness and if he will play tomorrow against Vissel Kobe in Tokyo: “The truth is that I feel very good compared to a few days ago.

“And depending on how that (training) goes. And if I’m honest, I still don’t know if I will be able to or not. But I feel much better and I really want to be able to do it.”

“The truth is that it was bad luck that I couldn’t (play) on the day of the Hong Kong match,” Messi said, adding that the “discomfort continued and it was very difficult for me to play.”

Messi is a player who lives and breathes for the game, with the 36-year-old eager to play ever second of every match even if it’s not physically possible.

And tomorrow, Inter Miami coaches need to be careful with how much Messi plays, though all signs currently indicate that the attacker will feature in some capacity against Vissel Kobe.

Indeed, Messi himself seems itching to get back out there and compete for a couple of minutes before finally heading home to Florida later this week.

Yet the forward needs to not feel pressured into playing tomorrow’s game, which could cause more injury problems that Inter Miami simply cannot handle right now.
