Apple TV pundit Taylor Twellman was left speechless by Jordi Alba’s goal for Inter Miami last night against CF Montreal.
The 34-year-old left-back was the only former FC Barcelona player to be named in the starting XI yesterday as Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets started the match on the bench, with Lionel Messi not featuring at all.
Alba has gone somewhat under the radar at Inter Miami this season with the fullback playing every minute in MLS this year, playing an integral role down the left-hand side for the Herons.
Jordi Alba praised after ‘quality’ Inter Miami goal vs CF Montreal

And speaking on Apple TV’s coverage of Inter Miami’s clash against Montreal, pundit Twellman was blown away by Alba’s late goal, with the former Spanish international scoring a sweet left-footed volley.
Whilst it will only go down as a consolation goal, the technique and the precision of the strike showed just why Alba was signed by Inter Miami, and the nature of MLS means the defender can now express himself more in the attack.
Twellman said on commentary after Alba’s goal against Montreal: “Fireworks were always going to go off and on around the stadium because there’s quality all over the field.
“The ball bounces around, but how about this for technique, how about this for quality, and how about this from Jordi Alba. One of the best left foots you will ever see.”
Jordi Alba can become something new in Florida

Just like Messi last year, Alba’s start to life at Inter Miami was plagued with injuries and fitness issues, though the defender now looks back to his physical best.
And based off the first few games of the season, Alba could be about to reinvent his game into something completely different, with the fullback showing he can be a real attacking threat for Inter Miami.
Having bagged close to 150 goal contributions for Barcelona, Alba can take his output to new levels in MLS, and last night’s strike showed that the defender can beat any goalkeeper if given space and time to shoot.
