Carlos Vela has predicted Lionel Messi to enjoy being off the pitch more than being on it for Inter Miami in MLS.
Speaking to the Athletic, the Los Angeles FC superstar tipped his Argentine rival to love the down time and privacy being a soccer player in America provides.
Whilst Messi is one of the most famous athletes in the world and has been seen being mobbed in certain areas of Miami, the MLS forward will seemingly enjoy a quieter life in America compared to anywhere in Europe.

Many top players over the years to play in MLS have noted how enjoyable it is to have a private life away from the pitch, and Messi could enjoy something similar in the years to come in Florida.
Indeed, Vela has remained in MLS for as long as he has for a reason, with the forward saying about Messi playing for Inter Miami: “He’s going to enjoy it. If there’s one thing that (footballers) have in this country is quality of life.
“The comfort in knowing that after you’ve played, you can have your time with your family and go to public places without as much stress as in other places. He’ll have that. Obviously, Messi is well known all over the world, but based on what he’s used to, he’ll live a more peaceful life here.”
Messi can feel at ease playing for Inter Miami off the pitch

Even for a player as big as Messi, life off the pitch will be much more different to what the Argentine international has been used to during his time with the national team, FC Barcelona and PSG.
Many big names from Steven Gerrard to Andrea Pirlo to now Vela have all said how enjoyable life away MLS action is given the small reputation soccer still has in the USA, which Messi could revel in.
Of course, the forward is still one of the most famous people on the planet, yet compared to Argentina or Spain, Messi will seemingly enjoy life more in Miami compared to other places where the winger has played.
