Luis Suarez to Inter Miami took months in the making.
The South Florida club has been after the forward since the summer, failing to bring him to the team in June.
However, after months of tight negotiations, Suarez finally put pen to paper on December 22, just a few days before Christmas.
The ex-Barcelona forward signed a deal that will keep him in Fort Lauderdale for a year, with an option for 2025.
“I will give my all to bring joy to these great fans I’ve heard so much about while I wear Inter Miami colors, and look forward to reuniting with great friends and players,” Suarez said in a press release.
“I’m also eager to meet my new teammates and coaches.”
What David Beckham had to say about the move

Perhaps an integral part of signing Suarez is the influence of co-owner David Beckham.
The former England international has kept a hands-on approach to ownership, constantly being seen at Miami’s training facilities.
Since Beckham was crucial in the club’s efforts to bring Lionel Messi to South Florida, it’s only natural for the 48-year-old to have his say with Suarez.
“We are delighted to have a player of Luis’ quality and passion for the game join our Club,” the ex-Manchester United midfielder said.
“He joins a squad that is inspiring the next generation and we look forward to seeing him take to the field with both former teammates and young players from our Academy.”

Suarez will be sharing the pitch with several of Miami’s Academy products.
Benjamin Cremaschi, David Ruiz, Noah Allen, Lawson Sunderland, and Ian Fray, have all come from the Heron’s prestigious stomping grounds.
The wealth of knowledge that Suarez will be able to share with the youngsters is invaluable and will only help Miami’s chances to win an MLS Cup.
Ultimately, time will tell if the men in pink will develop the chemistry needed to do so. But, if Beckham’s words are any indication, the Uruguayan’s quality will be enough.
