DeAndre Yedlin has detailed the ‘fear’ Lionel Messi strikes in opposing players since joining Inter Miami this summer.
Speaking to AS, the USMNT defender revealed that rival players have felt scared to take on Messi given his status as arguably the best player on the planet and of all time.
Messi has been a revelation for Inter Miami since signing this summer, though the Herons greatly missed the forward this weekend at Atlanta United, where Tata Martino’s side lost 5-2.

With Messi back in full training, though, the forward is expected to feature tonight against Toronto FC, with three points needed if Inter Miami are to qualify for the MLS playoffs.
Indeed, Messi has been a force for Inter Miami, and Yedlin has praised the Argentine’s impact on the club and how rival players how fear the Herons and the 36-year-old.
Yedlin said: “You talk about Leo, he’s the best player to ever play the game. So from the opponent’s standpoint, it strikes a bit of fear in them.”
Messi can do more to take Inter Miami higher

Inter Miami are living in wonderland having won Leagues Cup and booked their ticket to the US Open Cup final later this month.
Yet if they want to hit that extra level, Messi will need to do more if Martino’s side are to qualify for the post-season this year and to complete a truly incredible comeback.
Indeed, it will be hard given Messi’s recent fitness issues and the limited number of games Inter Miami actually have, but everything feels possible with this squad with the Argentine on the pitch.
