Former USA international Taylor Twellman has tipped Luis Suarez to thrive for Inter Miami this season alongside Lionel Messi.
The Uruguay international has been one of the biggest arrivals in MLS this winter with Inter Miami making the decision to reunite Messi with another former FC Barcelona teammate in Suarez.
Aged 37, some fans are already fearing that Suarez’s age and fitness might result in the striker being a disappointing signing for Inter Miami, something Twellman completely disagrees with.

Twellman told the Daily Mail: “First off, he’s one of the best center forwards of his generation. But between the ears, the movement is still there. So the legs may not be there, but it doesn’t matter.
“He’s still between the ears operating at a clip or two higher than the players around him. You couple that with Messi, Alba, Busquets, I think Suarez is the X-factor.
“I think if you get 15 goals-plus from him in the regular season, I think you’re cooking with gas because you know, Messi is gonna get his. And I think there’s gonna be a few others that get theirs.”
Inter Miami can get the best out of Luis Suarez one last time

Inter Miami would regard Suarez as quite the coup given how prolific the attacker has been over the years for the likes of Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Gremio.
And whilst concerns around the striker’s age and fitness are legitimate, Inter Miami might feel less pressured to field Suarez given that Messi is the star attraction of the team.
As a result Inter Miami’s coaches and medical staff can afford to be way more conservative over how much the Uruguay international actually plays in the upcoming MLS season.
Meaning, Inter Miami can get the best out of Suarez, who based on his record last year with Gremio has more than shown that he has more than enough quality in him to hit incredible goalscoring numbers.
