Ticket prices for Inter Miami away games in 2024 have already started to skyrocket.

According to a report from ESPN, one Eastern Conference team has already allocated a different set of rules for when Inter Miami comes to town.

On Tuesday, November 21st, the New York Red Bulls released a holiday ticket package promotion featuring select home matches for next season. The promotion looked normal at first until fans noticed in the email that Miami games would receive different treatment: “If RBNY plays Inter Miami CF in the home opener, each home opener ticket will be replaced with a ticket to RBNY’s 2nd home match.”

Though the 2024 Major League Soccer season schedule hasn’t officially dropped, many supporters are disgruntled at this new development.

In the promotion, the median ticket prices for end-line seats during non-Inter Miami matches are $98. Although the Red Bulls haven’t released prices for future Miami games, costs will likely increase.

In 2023, many MLS teams saw the effect Messi had on the league regarding ticket prices. Before the Argentine signed with the South Florida club, the average Inter Miami ticket was as low as $20 USD.

After the World Cup winner joined the team, prices soared and the lowest ticket fans could buy was around $200.

Messi’s presence in MLS has been a double-edged sword.

While his excellence on the pitch and crafty skills have helped Inter Miami win its first trophy in club history, the ticket prices have pushed out well-meaning fans.

The Argentine is, without a doubt, the best player of all time, and it’s natural that football fans would want to see him live.

However, his star power comes at a price. Both home and away fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the ex-Barcelona man are out of luck due to the exorbitant ticket prices.

As the 2024 season creeps closer, hopefully, both Inter Miami and MLS clubs around the league will be able to accommodate fans in their quest to watch Messi.
