Inter Miami will enter the 2025 SuperDraft hoping to find the MLS’s next big star.
With the likes of Jozy Altidore and Geoff Cameron having come through the process in previous years, the draft presents clubs with the opportunity to find stars of tomorrow.
Inter Miami themselves have enjoyed some success in the draft in recent times, with the likes of Yannick Bright and Leo Afonso both picks from 2024.
As the MLS draft inches closer though, Inter Miami News thought it would be worthwhile taking a look at three players the Herons may target.

Reid Roberts (San Francisco)
Inter Miami were undoubtedly the best-attacking team in the MLS last season, scoring an impressive 79 goals – their defense however wasn’t as imposing.
The Herons backline was leaky at the best of times, which suggests they may target a star defender in the draft – with the best of those options being San Francisco’s Reid Roberts.
Having won West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Roberts is arguably the top pick when it comes to defenders, with his left-footed versatility potentially posing as an attractive option for MLS clubs.
Daniel D’lppolito (Fordham)
Diego Gomez’s departure to Brighton leaves a big hole in the Inter Miami midfield heading into 2025.
With that being said, the Herons may see the draft as the perfect opportunity to pick up another talented midfielder.
One youngster who could potentially catch the eye of Miami is Fordham’s Daniel D’Ippolito, following the midfielder’s impressive stats from last season (14 goals, seven assists).
Alex Harris (Cornell)
With legendary forwards like Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi leading the line in Vice City, many young strikers will see Inter Mami as the perfect place to learn their attacking craft.
Cornell forward Alex Harris is one player in particular who Miami could potentially pick, with the youngster’s ability to play through the middle or out wide – making him an attractive proposition for teams.
Lukas Burns (Providence)
CJ Dos Santos’ move to San Diego FC suggests Inter Miami may be tempted to bolster their goalkeeping options in the draft.
Lukas Burns is likely most club’s top target when it comes to shot stoppers due to his impressive performances at Providence and experience playing at the Philadelphia Union Academy.
