Harry Kane has named Lionel Messi as the player he most wants to play with if given the chance.

Speaking to ESPN, the Bayern Munich superstar and England captain named the Inter Miami forward as the player he would one day love to play with in his career.

Kane said: “I’d love to play with Messi. One of the greatest players to ever play our game, so I’m sure he would be able to give me a few assists, for sure.”

The former Tottenham star has been a revelation for Bayern since joining the Bundesliga giants this summer, with Kane hitting an incredible 21 goals in just 16 appearances this campaign.

And a move to MLS could now be in Kane’s future, with the England international now publically stating his desire to one day play alongside Messi.

Indeed, whilst the Argentine might retire by the time this incredible partnership one day becomes a reality, Kane’s Messi comments could hint at something a little bit bigger.

Messi joining Inter Miami and MLS could have huge implications on soccer in the US, namely the inspiration the Argentine could now give other superstar players to make the same move.

MLS is heading into a whole new era in 2024, with Messi the poster boy for the entire division as more big-name players are now expected to make the move to America.

And Kane could be such a player, with the England international no stranger to the American market and a name who could draw in a lot of eyeballs if the forward was to move to MLS after his time with Bayern is done.
