Houston Dynamo manager Ben Olsen has jokingly detailed that he doesn’t have a plan to stop Lionel Messi in tomorrow’s US Open Cup final against Inter Miami.

Speaking to press via ESPN, the MLS coaching veteran sarcastically claimed he will ask the thousand of managers who have tried to stop Messi ahead of the Dynamo’s clash with Inter Miami in the US Open Cup.

Olsen said: “Let me ask the 5,000 coaches that have tried before to stop him that have not been able to, guys with better credentials than me.”

Messi is expected to feature tomorrow in what could be Inter Miami’s biggest game yet as a franchise, with the forward eager to win even more silverware for the Herons since joining this summer.

The 36-year-old has tormented MLS defences with his new club, and Olsen’s comment highlights that it might be impossible to stop Messi no matter who is marking him.

Indeed, Messi’s otherworldly abilities have seen the forward become the best player the world has ever seen, and the Dynamo could be in for a long night if the attacker features for Inter Miami.

Messi has already made history with Inter Miami after leading the Florida franchise to Leagues Cup glory this summer, and a repeat in the US Open Cup would be historic.

The Argentine attacker seems keen to return to action having spent the past few weeks nursing an injury, and Messi can cause the Dynamo some real damage tomorrow night.

With history again on the line, Messi being on the pitch will give Inter Miami a significant boost in claiming another massive result, with silverware something the attacker will stride to win.
