Apple TV pundit Taylor Twellman has noted that Luis Suarez looks like he is playing in pain since joining Inter Miami this winter.
The 37-year-old striker signed for the Herons as a Designated Player with Suarez reuniting with former FC Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba in Florida.
However, it’s been a rough start for the Uruguay international, with Suarez scoring just once in pre-season and looking rusty in the first few MLS games of the new year, with the attacker coming off injured against the LA Galaxy.
Pundit says Luis Suarez looks ‘in real pain’ since joining Inter Miami
And taking to Twitter, Twellman stated that Suarez looked in ‘real pain’ during Inter Miami’s clash on Sunday against the Galaxy, with the striker only lasting 67 minutes in California.
Indeed, Suarez’s fitness was always going to be a major concern this season with the striker needing constant attention on his knees having involved chronic issues over the years.
And Sunday was a stark reminder that Inter Miami need to be careful with how much they use Suarez, who has started the last two MLS games for the Herons as well as the final match of pre-season.
Given that the striker went off injured against the Galaxy, Inter Miami fans will now be sitting with bated breath hoping that Suarez is fit enough to feature this Saturday against Orlando City.
Herons need a plan to get new superstar striker back into shape

Suarez’s fitness has tended to lag at the start of seasons, with the Uruguay striker facing similar problems last year at Gremio, with the forward eventually going on to make 40+ goal contributions.
And for Inter Miami, they need to find a similar solution to getting Suarez back to his best, with the veteran attacker potentially a difference-maker for the Herons this season.
Based off individual quality, no striker is as lethal or as efficient as Suarez in MLS, yet these powers are worthless if the Florida franchise can’t get the forward fit enough to complete full matches with zero pain.
