Luis Suarez will reportedly start for tomorrow night against Nashville in Inter Miami’s massive Champions Cup tie in Florida.

The Uruguay international was named on the bench on Sunday as Suarez made a cameo appearance against CF Montreal, with Inter Miami losing their unbeaten start to the season in a 3-2 win.

With Inter Miami’s schedule as hectic as it is, the decision to rest Suarez on the weekend was an interesting one, with Tata Martino also choosing to give Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi a break.

Yet according to El Observador, Suarez is set to start for Inter Miami tomorrow night against Nashville, with the attacker scoring in the opening leg of this Champions Cup tie last week.

With the score at 2-2, Inter Miami just need to win by one goal if they’re to progress to the next round of the competition, something the Florida franchise have earmarked as a priority at this stage in the season.

Indeed, winning the Champions Cup will book Inter Miami’s place in next year’s inaugural FIFA Club World Cup, where the Herons could face the likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

And Suarez being fit for tomorrow’s round of 16 clash could be huge in Inter Miami making history on the continent, with the Herons aiming to become only the fourth MLS franchise to win the Champions Cup.

As much as it might pain some fans to hear it, Inter Miami succeeding beyond MLS is only a good thing for the development and growth of the league.

The likes of Messi and Suarez have brought a huge audience to the beautiful game in America, with the soccer legends raising the profile of MLS and those at Inter Miami to unimaginable extremes.

And Inter Miami winning the Champions Cup and competing in next year’s Club World Cup will be nothing but a good thing for MLS, who will want as many teams as possible competing in the competition.
