Inter Miami were last night compared to FC Barcelona after Lionel Messi and company once again put on a show to claim a 3-1 win against Orlando City.
Commentating on Apple TV, pundit Taylor Twellman likened Tata Martino’s side to the European giants, with the former USMNT international saying: “Messi lands in Fort Lauderdale and all of a sudden Barcelona shows up wearing pink.”
Inter Miami made it three wins from three since Messi’s arrival, with the 36-year-old again stealing the show with a brace against Orlando in the forward’s first Florida Derby.

The performance was significant as it again showed just how much Messi’s world-class abilities have elevated the rest of his Inter Miami teammates, with Josef Martinez and Robert Taylor impressing on the night.
With five goals in three games, Messi is making light work of MLS opponents, and Inter Miami now stand with a good shot of winning the Leagues Cup having now made it to the round of 16.
Indeed, Inter Miami have been transformed with the arrival of Messi to Florida, and the forward’s performance last night was again a testament to how good the attacker will be in MLS for Martino’s side.
Messi will lead Inter Miami to success after breathtaking performance

Messi stealing the show for Inter Miami for the third time is no real shock given the forward’s credentials as the greatest soccer player to ever live, and the attacker has the quality to lead his new side to unrivaled success.
Few would have expected Messi to adapt to life in Florida this quickly, yet three games into his MLS career, and there’s already talk that the former Barcelona star will lead Inter Miami to multiple trophies this season.
Whilst comparing Inter Miami’s play to Barcelona is a bit of a stretch, there’s no denying just how good Messi has made his new team, who just a few weeks ago were easily the worst side in MLS by a clear margin.
