Tata Martino has addressed his concern with Inter Miami’s lack of goals this pre-season, despite Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez featuring heavily.
The Herons landed another statement signing this January in the form of the Uruguay international, with Suarez last season scoring 26 goals in all competitions for Gremio.
With Messi one of the greatest goalscorers soccer has ever seen, it has come as a surprise to many that Inter Miami have failed to find the back of the net in their first two pre-season friendlies.

And speaking to ESPN, Martino detailed his concern over Inter Miami’s lack of goals this winter, though the Inter Miami manager admitted that this issue could be resolved quickly.
Indeed, Inter Miami’s squad are returning after a long break from the 2023 MLS season, and it will take time for the likes of Messi and new signing Suarez to find their feet in pre-season.
Martino said when asked about Inter Miami’s lack of pre-season goals: “If there is any concern, it is about scoring goals. But we are looking for team strength that little by little I think we are going to achieve.”
Inter Miami need to be concerned with fitness this pre-season

Whilst zero goals in two pre-season is a poor return for a club with as much firepower as Inter Miami, this issue is one that the Herons shouldn’t be too worried about.
As we know, the Florida franchise are now embarking on one of the most gruelling pre-season tours any club will endure this year, with Inter Miami currently in Saudi Arabia.
For Martino, the main issue has to be keeping his players fit and healthy, with the likes of Suarez and Messi especially in need of being taken care of.
We all know what the pair can do when in top form, and goals will come naturally, which is why the duo have to keep fit, an issue that is more important this pre-season than performances.
