An Inter Miami player has revealed that he has rejected an international call-up to remain with the Herons for their upcoming games.
This summer sees two of the biggest soccer tournaments take place in the Copa America and the Euros, with Lionel Messi set to captain Argentina in what might be the forward’s last international tournament.
With Luis Suarez and Matias Rojas also in contention to compete in the Copa America, Inter Miami could see a number of their most important players leave for their international teams, a problem that MLS teams usually face at this time of year.
Yet one star name has publically admitted that he will be staying with Inter Miami this summer.

Robert Taylor says he will stay with Inter Miami despite Finland call-up
Speaking to the press, Robert Taylor admitted that he will not be joining up with Finland’s national team for their summer friendlies in order to stay with Inter Miami, who have some big games coming up next month.
Indeed, this isn’t the first time Taylor has opted to remain in Florida despite a call-up from his national team, and the 29-year-old attacker staying with the Herons could be huge with Messi gone in early June.
Taylor said when asked if he will be leaving Inter Miami next month to compete for Finland in their summer friendlies: “We have games here with Inter Miami, so I will be playing with Inter Miami.
“It’s a difficult situation for coaches on the national team and here in MLS to face the fact that there is no break here between games, and for me, I have to make a difficult decision sometimes, but I feel like my home is here and I need to focus on bringing the results here.”

Taylor could be huge for Inter Miami with Messi gone
Taylor has stepped up in a big way in the last 12 months, with the winger one of Tata Martino’s most trusted players and a regular in the Inter Miami starting XI.
And this summer could see Taylor step up yet again with Messi likely to miss as many as six games for Inter Miami, with Argentina the favorites to reclaim their Copa America title.
With Taylor in decent form this year, the Finnish international will have to take it upon himself to deliver the goods this summer and to keep Inter Miami’s Supporters’ Shield bid going strong.
