Luis Suarez was reportedly seen limping in Inter Miami’s 1-1 draw against LA Galaxy last night, with the striker’s knee seemingly flaring up.

The striker was once again named in the Herons’ starting XI just four days after playing close to 90 minutes for Inter Miami in the MLS season opener against Real Salt Lake.

With Suarez suffering from serious knee problems, there is an almost 100% chance the attacker will miss time this season due to this recurring issue for Inter Miami.

And according to the Miami Herald’s Michelle Kaufman, this is seemingly what happened last night against the Galaxy, with Suarez coming off 67 minutes after being seen limping with a suspected knee injury.

Having started Inter Miami’s season opener on Wednesday, it makes sense why Suarez’s knee is now acting up having had little rest coupled with traveling across the entire United States to play in California.

Indeed, the Florida franchise knew what they were getting into when signing Suarez at 37-years-old, with the attacker simply not fit enough to start every game for the Herons.

And Inter Miami were punished last night against in Los Angeles, with Suarez coming off with a knee injury that could keep the forward out of this week’s Florida derby against Orlando City SC.

Inter Miami can’t afford to start star players every single game

Given how much star quality Inter Miami now have, there will be an unjust expectation from rival fans that the likes of Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Suarez have to start every away game.

However, this is the real world we live in, and such expectations are not only unrealistic but also dangerous, with Inter Miami in a position where they must feel forced to play their stars for every game.

As a result, the Herons now find themselves in a tough position, yet common sense must win this debate, and Inter Miami should not be afraid to rest key players when their fitness is running low.
