Julian Gressel has shared which Inter Miami player Lionel Messi has now become good friends with this season.
The Argentine international has settled in well with the Herons since moving to Florida last summer, with Messi enjoying life in the United States after an awkward two years with French giants PSG.
Performances have been astonishing, to say the least, with Messi breaking numerous MLS records and sending Inter Miami to the top of the Supporters’ Shield ahead of his departure for the Copa America next month.
And midfielder Gressel has now said Messi has become close with one Inter Miami star.

Leonardo Campana ‘has a good relationship’ with Messi and company
Speaking on the Player/Manager podcast, Gressel shared that striker Leonardo Campana has become close with the likes of Messi and Luis Suarez in the squad, as well as the other to players in the Inter Miami squad.
Gressel said when asked about Campana’s role off the field for the Herons: “A couple of weeks ago I told him ‘Leo, you are so important to this team, don’t get discouraged by your role and your limited playing time.’
“He’s a connector in the locker room given that he can speak English and Spanish, he has a good relationship with the likes of Leo, Luis, Busi and Jordi, and he can also connect with the younger guys.
“It was good to see him have his moment and to win the three points for us, it gives me goosebumps right now and I’m so happy for him.”

Inter Miami need players like Campana to keep everything ticking
Superstar players like Messi and Suarez are a sure-fire way to lead a team to success, but another key factor is surrounding these sort of players with figures who know how to keep the environment sound.
And Campana seemingly does just that for Inter Miami, with the 23-year-old forward establishing himself as a key connector in the group for the superstar pact as well as the rest of the team.
Indeed, the likes of Messi know that Inter Miami are nothing without the likes of Campana, and the two striking up a friendship could go a long way in the Herons clinching success later this year.
