Kylian Mbappe has admitted that he loved Cristiano Ronaldo growing up but has since come to admire Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi.
Speaking in a video via Sport Bible, the PSG superstar revealed that he was a massive Ronaldo fan growing up, though Mbappe hinted that he now loves both the Portuguese international and Messi.
In the world of soccer, no debate rages harder than Messi vs Ronaldo, though public consensus now seems to favor the Inter Miami superstar over the Al-Nassr striker.
And Mbappe now seems to be leaning towards the Argentine legend, with the 24-year-old playing with Messi for the last two years at PSG.
Mbappe said when asked which of the two players he now prefers having played with Messi: “I love Cristiano, I was a big fan of his when I was younger.
“But I started to like Messi too. When you’re young and a fan of Cristiano, you can’t understand how good Messi is, because you love Cristiano. I grew up and now I love both.”
Mbappe might now prefer Messi to Ronaldo
The Messi vs Ronaldo debate is one that has seemingly become a one-horse race in recent years, with the Inter Miami star last year leading Argentina to their glory in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
And for Mbappe, having now played alongside Messi, the striker could now feel that the MLS superstar is the better player compared to Ronaldo, especially when you consider what has happened in the last 12 months.
Indeed, few would now agree that Ronaldo is better than Messi, and Mbappe could now be on the hype train with the Argentine not slowing down at all since moving to Inter Miami.
