The Argentine superstar took to social media to applaud his team’s ability to come back from 4-2 down to draw 4-4 with the Texas franchise to eventually win on penalties, with Messi scoring a late equalizer from a free-kick.
Messi posted: “We fought until the last moment and at the end we got another win!! One more step. Thanks to all the people in Dallas for the love.”
Inter Miami have won every game since Messi’s arrival, with the forward scoring seven goals in the process and assisting another, with the 36-year-old taking the Herons to a whole new level.
Success in the Leagues Cup is now likely with Messi producing the type of performances that has made the Argentine one of the greatest players to ever play the sport.
And the forward himself buying into the Inter Miami project will only help Messi push his new team to limits nobody could have imagined this season, with the best yet to come.
