Inter Miami and Lionel Messi are set to defend their Leagues Cup title in 2024.
After barnstorming to the title in 2023, the men in pink now know their opponents for 2024’s edition of the tournament.
Last year, Miami was grouped with Atlanta United and Mexican side Cruz Azul in the opening stages of the tournament.
On January 31st, the Leagues Cup organizers released the groups for this year’s edition with Miami set to take on Liga MX powerhouse Tigres and Puebla FC.
Inter Miami will be defending their 2023 against one of the toughest teams in Mexico in Tigres.
The Monterrey-based club is one of the most successful teams in the area, winning the 2020 edition of the CONCACAF Champions League.
Inter Miami and Messi’s chances of silverware

Inter Miami and Messi will have several opportunities at trophies next season. The South Florida team will play in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, US Open Cup, MLS Cup playoffs, and the Leagues Cup.
The Herons are confident that they will be prepared, despite the large amount of games.
Already, the men in pink have acquired Luis Suarez, Julian Gressel, and Nicolas Freire in the winter transfer window, with more signing to come.
Though there is still a month until the tournament officially kicks off, Miami will have enough to prepare. With rumors suggesting that the Herons could be after Federico Redondo, the men in pink are laying the foundation for a successful 2024.
