Luis Suarez has announced ahead of tonight’s Newell’s Old Boys clash that Inter Miami will be the striker’s final club before retiring.
The 37-year-old attacker joined the Florida franchise last month having spent a year in Brazil with Gremio, with Suarez reuniting with Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba at Inter Miami.
There was always a strong chance that the Herons would be the striker’s final club with Suarez in the twilight of his career, with talk of retirement certainly in the air.
And speaking to Uruguayan radio station Del Sol, Suarez announced that Inter Miami will be the final club of his career, though a specific date on when the forward will retire is currently unknown.
Suarez when asked if Inter Miami will be the final club of his career: “Inter Miami will be my last club, my family already knows that. I don’t have a date yet, but it’s the last step.
“I’m ready for this last challenge, but there is an inevitable fatigue and, in the end, I want to have quality of life in the future,” he added.

Suarez might only play just one season with Inter Miami, yet that could be enough time for the former FC Barcelona and Liverpool star to cement his status as a club legend.
Having hit almost 30 goals last season in an arguably tougher division, Suarez could dominate MLS and play a huge role in Inter Miami’s potentially historic season.
Indeed, Suarez will want to end his career on a high, and bringing silverware to Florida will be the perfect way for the legendary marksman to wrap up his brilliant soccer life.
WIth Messi and company alongside him, there’s a real chance that Inter Miami can do the impossible this season, and Suarez will want to win as much as possible in the upcoming season.
