Luis Suarez has showered an Inter Miami star with praise after Inter Miami’s 6-2 win last night against the New York Red Bulls inspired by Lionel Messi.

The reigning Ballon d’Or holder once again stole all the headlines as Messi became the first player in MLS history to register five assists in a single match, with the Argentine also scoring himself for Inter Miami.

With Suarez scoring his first hat-trick for the Herons, it was a fantastic night in general for Inter Miami, who sent out yet another statement to MLS that they are here to challenge for the Supporters’ Shield and MLS Cup.

Yet as well as Messi, Suarez was impressed with yet another Inter Miami star on the night.

Suarez lauds ‘quality’ Matias Rojas performance in Inter Miami win

Speaking to Deporte Total USA, Suarez was full of praise for Matias Rojas, with the Paraguay international scoring a fantastic brace in what was a real breakout performance for the forward.

Replacing David Ochoa at halftime, Rojas’ impact was immediate as the former Corinthians star scored within minutes of the restart from distance, and Suarez has been impressed with what he’s seen from his new teammate.

Suarez said when asked about Rojas’ performance and the impact the Paraguayan has already had at Inter Miami: “The quality that he has over the years from playing in Argentina and in Brazil showed, he made a difference tonight.

“We are grateful to have him in the team, he has already adapted his game to ours and he has shown in his first minutes with us that he is an intelligent player. He is going to help Inter Miami a lot and push us further.”

Rojas can be a real weapon for the Herons this year

Two games in as an Inter Miami player and it’s easy to see why stars such as Suarez are already so impressed with what they have seen from the versatile winger.

Rojas showed bright sparks against the New England Revolution last weekend, and this Saturday saw the 28-year-old impress again with two fantastic goals on his Inter Miami home debut.

Indeed, Rojas can be a real weapon for Inter Miami this year if he can maintain this level of form, and the Herons have again landed on a real gem in the transfer market in the former Corinthians forward.
