Inter Miami did well to sign a legend of the game.

No one can come close to what Lionel Messi accomplished in his career. The 36-year-old has won it all: The Champions League, La Liga titles, and most recently a World Cup trophy.

Of course, as the Argentine gets older, there will be a handful of players that will try to emulate his playing style.

Manchester United winger compared to Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi

One player who was recently compared to the ex-Barcelona man is Manchester United winger Amad Diallo.

In an interview with Manchester United’s official website, the young Ivorian denied the claims and said that, although he’s flattered, he’s not Messi.

“I know they said this [that I was like Lionel Messi in training] but no-one plays like Messi,” Diallo said.

“No-one plays like Messi. I am proud he [Gomez] says I play like Messi but I say no-one plays like Messi! In training, I was like the same here, with a little bit of dribbling and scoring, so they say my football is more like Messi but, today, I say no-one can play like Messi.”

Even at Inter Miami, players are stunned at Messi’s brilliance.

Messi announced his presence in MLS with a free kick winner against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup opener.

Since then, the Argentine carried Inter Miami to the title, where he won the Best Player and the Golden Boot.

As Inter Miami heads into 2024, expect more magic from Messi. With a full off season of rest and a couple of months to settle down in South Florida, the Argentine will be more motivated than ever.

With preseason around the corner, Messi is ready for his second full season in MLS with the Herons.
