Marcelo Weigandt’s father has launched an incredible attack at Boca Juniors amid reports that Inter Miami are in talks to sign the defender.

News broke over the weekend that the Herons are eager to bring in the 24-year-old right-back, with Weigandt viewed as a replacement for DeAndre Yedlin, who was this week traded to FC Cincinnati.

With Weigandt’s contract with Boca Juniors ending in a few months, the Argentine has been identified as a target by Inter Miami, who continue to push for an agreement with the South American giants for the defender.

Yet taking to Instagram via El Argentino Diario, Weigandt’s father has launched quite the attack on Boca Juniors, with the defender’s dad keen for the Argentine side to cash in on his son.

With only a few months left on his current contract, it’s clear that Weigandt seems keen on a move to Inter Miami, yet Boca Juniors could postpone the move if they’re too eager to get a good fee for the defender.

Weigandt’s father wrote amid ongoing reports that Inter Miami are pushing hard to reach an agreement with Boca Juniors: “All the bad things come back.

“I don’t understand how they don’t develop a player who would be free in two months. In other words, they prefer to lose money and say the simplest thing, always blaming the player who is a mercenary. “As always, they perform very well”

Inter Miami might have to meet Boca Juniors’ transfer demands

With Inter Miami having enough in the salary cap to bring in Weigandt, the Herons now find themselves in a position where they might need to meet Boca Juniors’ demands for the right-back.

Whilst it makes sense why the Florida franchise are playing the long game for Weigandt, Inter Miami can’t afford to let this transfer saga roll on for too long given how much they need a new right-back.

And with reports suggesting that Boca Juniors only want $1m for Weigandt, Inter Miami might just have to bite the bullet and pay up for the 24-year-old defender.
