MLS legend Bradley Wright-Phillips has noted how lucky Tata Martino is to have as squad as good as Inter Miami’s after their 3-1 win against DC United.
The Herons secured their first away win of the season after going 1-0 down to secure a huge three points on the road in the US capital, with Luis Suarez scoring a brace from the bench.
With no Lionel Messi to call upon, it was arguably one of Inter Miami’s most impressive results to date, with the Herons struggling without their star player in the matchday squad.
Bradley Wright-Phillips says Tata Martino is ‘spoilt’ at Inter Miami

And speaking on MLS Wrap-Up, league legend Wright-Phillips noted how Martino is lucky to have a squad as good as he does, with Suarez and Leonardo Campagna incredible attacking options to have.
Indeed, the South American duo on their own would be enough for most MLS sides to enjoy a fruitful goalscoring season, especially if Suarez can stay fit enough.
Yet when you add Messi into the mix, it’s easy to see why Martino can be viewed as a lucky coach, with Inter Miami’s currently squad arguably the best that has ever been seen in MLS.
Wright-Phillips said: “Tata is a lucky man right now. He probably has two of the best strikers in any squad. He’s got Suarez banging in goals, and if he can’t play, Campanga starts and he gets a goal, he’s very spoilt.”
DC United win showed Inter Miami don’t have to rely on Lionel Messi

Inter Miami had major issues in recent months in failing to get results without Messi in the squad, which is why Saturday’s win was so big for the Herons.
Whilst Suarez is arguably the second best player in MLS, the Florida franchise showed that they don’t need to rely on Messi to get three points, with the Uruguay international the star of the show on Saturday.
Indeed, the veteran attacker could be just as important for Inter Miami this season as Messi, and with Campanga also chipping in with goals, the Herons have the tools needed to thrive this year.
