Streaming platform Netflix have now announced that a new documentary series focusing on David Beckham is set to be released in the coming weeks.

Beckham, one of the most famous footballers in the world during his playing days, is the co-owner of Inter Miami, and helped found the club as well as launching it into stardom.

Inter Miami attracted Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets this summer, with Beckham playing a huge role in their additions, and he still remains a key figure in the global game.

Netflix, one of the biggest streaming platforms in the world, have now announced a four-part documentary on the former England star, which is set to be released on October 4th.

The trailer has shown that the documentary will give a huge insight into his personal life during his playing career, with his celebrity image causing a lot of distraction off the pitch, but it is still unclear whether his adventures in MLS will feature heavily.

Beckham’s MLS legacy

Beckham was one of the first, and biggest stars to move to MLS when he joined LA Galaxy in 2007, and his image helped the league develop, and paved the way for more stars to join.

Fellow England internationals Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard all found themselves in MLS towards the end of their careers, and perhaps none of them may have joined without Beckham leading the way.

His venture into Inter Miami has seen him launch the club, and use his image to help raise its profile. With Messi now in Miami, his vision has been achieved, that his club were able to recruit the greatest player of all time within just a few years of existence.

It will be interesting to see whether the documentary shows an insight into his MLS ventures, and the reasonings behind his initial move nearly two decades ago, as one of the biggest names to ever play in the Premier League.
