Inter Miami are working hard this pre-season under Javier Mascherano with Lionel Messi preparing for his third season in MLS.
The Argentine international heads into 2025 as the reigning MLS MVP and with a clean bill of health with Messi seemingly raring to go for the new campaign with Inter Miami, who this off-season have been hard at work making a number of exciting signings.
Although Neymar won’t be joining Inter Miami this January, the Herons squad is arguably looking as good as it ever has with Mascherano using his extensive network of contacts to bring in a number of top additions this month.
One move Inter Miami made was re-signing Oscar Ustari with the veteran goalkeeper set to act as backup for Drake Callender and a mentor for new third-choice shot-stopper Rocco Rios Novo, and the Argentine has now shared what players are starting to learn from Messi in training.

Inter Miami players learning from ‘extraordinary’ Messi in training
Speaking to the press, the 38-year-old goalkeeper noted how Inter Miami players are started to ‘take advantage’ of training with Messi every single day, with the former FC Barcelona superstar lauded as ‘extraordinary’.
New signing Fafa Picault has already praised Messi for how good the forward is in training with Inter Miami, with the Argentine international likely to raise the game of every single one of his new teammates as the year progresses.
And Ustari now believes Inter Miami’s players are doing the right thing in trying to learn as much as they can from the attacker, with the goalkeeper saying: “It is incredible because every day you see extraordinary things in an extraordinary player.
“It is difficult to fully realize that we have Leo as a teammate, even though I have known him for many years. But our players are intelligent and they take advantage of training with him.”

How has Messi performed in Inter Miami training this off-season?
Messi is as fit as he has ever been since joining Inter Miami in 2023, with the forward set for an entire pre-season where his fitness and health will come first ahead of the start of the new campaign next month.
And comments on the 37-year-old’s performances in training have been positive, with Santiago Morales sharing how Messi has been a mentor for the teenage midfielder alongside the likes of Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets this January.
Indeed, Messi looks ready to enjoy his best season yet at Inter Miami, and the former PSG attacker seems ready to start the new campaign with a bang, with the second pre-season friendly just around the corner.
