Matias Rojas is reportedly set to join Inter Miami, yet the winger has already shown his appreciation for Lionel Messi in a big way.
Rumors this week strongly suggest that the 28-year-old forward is closing in on a move to Inter Miami, with Rojas currently a free agent after departing Corinthians.
Despite interest from Argentina, it’s MLS that will be Rojas’ next destination, and previous comments from the Paraguay international show that the attacker is quite the Messi fan.
Matias Rojas raved over Lionel Messi in 2019 ahead of Inter Miami switch

Speaking to CNN Argentina in 2019, Rojas was almost delirious in his praise of Messi after an international fixture against the now-Inter Miami captain, a game in which Paraguay drew 1-1.
Given Messi’s unparalleled success in soccer, it’s perhaps no real surprise that Rojas was full of praise for the Argentine international nearly five years ago after their first meeting on the pitch.
And based off Rojas’ previous comments, the winger will be excited to become a teammate of Messi’s, with the Paraguayan exactly what Inter Miami are looking for in the market.
Rojas said: “Playing against Messi was the best thing that happened to me in football, so far. I fulfilled a dream. He is an idol, the best of all time. There is, there was not and there will not be another player like Messi.”
Matias Rojas will want to impress his new teammate

Storytelling in soccer is as beautiful as it can be in sports, and Rojas signing for Messi after his previous comments on Messi is a testament to that statement.
The 28-year-old winger will soon be a teammate of the Argentine superstar’s, a player Rojas clearly admires and believes is the greatest to ever play the game.
And once in Florida, Rojas will want to impress his new teammate as well as the rest of the Inter Miami squad, where the winger could become a key player for the Herons.
