Sergio Busquets has hinted that he misses playing alongside Dixon Arroyo, who left Inter Miami earlier this year.
The Ecuador international was a regular in the midfield alongside Busquets for Inter Miami last season, with the pair forming a decent connection in the second-half of the MLS year.
However, Arroyo was released by the Herons with the 31-year-old returning back home to Ecuador to join Barcelona S.C., with Inter Miami since adding to the midfield in Julian Gressel and Federico Redondo.

Yet speaking to the Miami Herald, Busquets hinted that he misses playing alongside Arroyo, with the veteran superstar claiming that his former teammate created balance in the midfield.
With Gressel now Busquets’ midfield partner, the 35-year-old is tasked with more defensive work, something that left the former FC Barcelona star exposed on Sunday against the LA Galaxy.
Busquets said when asked about the midfield changes made this winter: “Dixon’s player profile was more someone who played alongside me, close by, to create balance.
“Julian runs more, goes forward, can play multiple positions but has offensive characteristics. It all depends on the opponent as to what type of player (Martino) will pick for each game.”

It’s been a window of change for Inter Miami with the Florida franchise adding plenty of new tools to their midfield despite losing Arroyo as well as Gregore this winter.
Yet for Busquets, the 35-year-old star will soon adapt to his new teammates, with Tata Martino clearly trying to work out what system works best in the midfield.
Gressel has done well in the first few games of the season with Diego Gomez also adding some youth to the midfield, and the arrival of Redondo will give Inter Miami yet another option to pair with Busquets.
