Tata Martino has shared the differences between Inter Miami and FC Cincinnati after last night’s record-breaking loss for the Herons.
The Florida franchise were humiliated 6-1 at the West End Stadium by Supporters’ Shield rivals Cincinnati, with Pat Noonan’s side overtaking Inter Miami in the standings and sending a statement to the rest of the league.
Whilst Inter Miami were missing superstar forwards Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, even these two might not have been enough to stop Cincinnati from claiming a historic win against the Herons, who took their biggest beating ever since joining MLS.
And manager Martino has now shared what the differences are between the Herons and Cincinnati.

Cincinnati attackers the difference in 6-1 Inter Miami collapse
Speaking to the press, Martino highlighted how Cincinnati’s attackers and the quality at which they put pressure on Inter Miami’s shape was key to how the hosts managed such a ruthless result last night.
Whilst Inter Miami’s attack has been outstanding this year, the speed and precision Cincinnati’s forwards dismantled the Herons was something you simply could not see from Messi and Suarez at their age, and Martino seemingly knows.
Martino said when asked about the difference between Inter Miami and Cincinnati: “For 30 minutes or so we could not control their offense, but we also were dangerous in attack, but those 10 to 15 minutes at the end of the [first] half were what determined what happened in the second half.
“We could never resolve Cincinnati’s attack, they played very well, with high pressure from Lucho Acosta, Luca Orellano and Yuya Kubo. The reality is tonight we saw a big difference in what Cincinnati does and what we did.”

Herons know they have to improve after historic defeat
Inter Miami have been somewhat lucky in their last four wins heading into last night’s mammoth MLS tie against Cincinnati, with the Herons surviving without their star forwards and getting results in the process.
Yet the 6-1 loss to Cincinnati is the clearest sign yet that things have to improve at Inter Miami if they’re to truly become the biggest team in MLS, with changes at the back the first port of call.
Indeed, the Florida franchise know they cannot experience another defeat as embarrassing as the one they suffered in Ohio this weekend, and roster changes will have to be made this summer to ensure this does not happen again.
