Inter Miami head coach Tata Martino claims that Inter Miami will analyze bringing Luis Suarez to the club.

The Heron’s winter transfer plans have kicked into high gear, with the Uruguayan striker reportedly on Miami’s roster shortlist for next year, according to Martino.

Speaking to the media ahead of Miami’s Wednesday night match vs. Charlotte FC, the Miami manager spoke about Suarez and how the club could possibly add him to the roster: “Within our analysis of the upcoming season, and the needs we may have, we have an analysis with Luis and an analysis without Luis. So when the moment arrives to make Suarez’s situation with respect to Inter Miami official, we’ll be prepared to go in the corresponding direction.”

After failing to make the playoffs, the Herons look ready to revamp their squad.

Though the team won its first trophy in club history over the summer, clinching the Leagues Cup title, their good form wasn’t enough to make the postseason. Miami is looking to re-tool ahead of next year, and Suarez could play a crucial part.

Earlier this month, Gremio boss Renato Gaucho confirmed that Suarez will be leaving their team at the end of 2023. This leaves the door open for Miami to swoop in come January.

Suarez would be an intriguing addition to Miami’s arsenal of attackers.

Although he’s 36 years old, the striker has been in phenomenal form for Gremio scoring nine times and assisting six in 22 games played. Suarez has shown that he can still contribute in offense, which may calm many fans’ concerns about his age and health issues.

Additionally, Inter Miami will be playing in a myriad of domestic and international competitions next year and will need depth and experience up top.

Furthermore, Suarez has played with Lionel Messi and will be able to fit seamlessly alongside the Argentine in attack.

All in all, if Martino’s quote is anything to go by, then it looks like Miami may add another ex-Barcelona superstar to its ranks.
