Lionel Messi’s fitness has quickly become the biggest talking point in the world of Inter Miami, with the attacker not playing for the Supporters’ Shield leaders since the start of June.
The Copa America and an injury in the final has resulted in the 37-year-old forward missing the last 11 games for Inter Miami, with Messi doing light training behind the scenes away from the training pitch.
With Messi also not named in Argentina’s squad for the September international break, there’s a real chance that the forward could be back later this month, with Inter Miami having two MLS fixtures.
And there’s now hope for when Messi could return to full Inter Miami training.

Messi expected back in Inter Miami training soon
According to Ole, confidence is building that Messi will be back soon in Inter Miami training, with optimism growing that the attacker could even feature against the Chicago Fire at the end of August.
As per the report, Inter Miami’s sole goal with Messi is to ensure that the 37-year-old is as healthy and match fit as possible heading into the MLS play-offs in October, with the Herons a shoo-in for the post-season.
With Inter Miami also winning nine games without Messi in their last 11, there’s a real chance that the Florida franchise can wrap up the Supporters’ Shield without their star attacker in the coming weeks.
Indeed, Messi’s return to fitness is of the utmost importance for Inter Miami, and the attacker returning to training soon will be massive for the Herons in their bid to win a domestic double this season.

Messi’s return can’t come soon enough for the Herons
Messi is one of the best players on the planet despite his age and fitness problems, with the Argentine someone who can change the entire tempo of a game with a goal or an assist that nobody else can see.
And for Inter Miami, the forward coming back this month will be huge for the Herons, with Messi’s return adding yet another weapon to Tata Martino’s arsenal having finally cracked the code on winning without the 37-year-old.
Having not played for Inter Miami for two months, Messi will be itching to get back onto the pitch for the Florida franchise, and his return could now just be a few days away.
