Inter Miami have enjoyed quite the year since the arrival of Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba last summer, yet it’s the likes of Yannick Bright who have been real surprise packages.
The 22-year-old Italian midfielder was signed at the start of the year after being picked by the Herons in the MLS SuperDraft, with few expecting Bright to feature much for Inter Miami given their immense amount of squad depth.
However, the youngster has this year established himself as one of the best prospects in Inter Miami’s squad, with Bright now filling in for Busquets in the holding midfield role with the former FC Barcelona star dropping down into central defense.
And Bright has shared what Busquets is teaching him behind the scenes in Inter Miami training.

Bright ‘learning quite a bit’ from Inter Miami teammate Busquets
Speaking to the Drive Pink Dialogue, Bright revealed that Busquets has been giving him pointers on his positioning on the pitch and how to go about thinking out plays whilst on the ball.
With Bright one of the youngest players in Inter Miami’s starting XI, there’s a real chance that the midfielder will ultimately replace Busquets once the veteran calls time on his illustrious career, and the Italian seems to be soaking in everything he can from the 35-year-old.
Bright said when asked what it’s like playing alongside Busquets: “They didn’t get me to be the next Busquets, I don’t think there ever will be a next Busquets, but the fact he’s here and he can help me out and complete my style of play, I’m learning quite a bit so far.
“Positioning-wise, the thought process, he explains things to me, we go through situations and he tells me what he thinks and where he’d position himself, he’s helping me out so far in my development.

Bright is on course to become an Inter Miami icon
Inter Miami have enjoyed a lot of feel good stories from Ian Fray’s return to action to the development of Diego Gomez, and Bright’s surprise breakout as a top MLS prospect certainly fits the criteria.
The midfielder has been one of the pickups of the season for any team in MLS this season given how unlikely Bright’s breakout was, with draft signings often not working out for top clubs in the division.
Yet Bright is proving everyone wrong and then some this year, and all signs point towards the midfielder becoming a real icon for the Herons if the Inter Miami star remains in Florida for the coming years.
