Inter Miami have been linked with a move for Sergio Ramos for almost a year, with the legendary Spanish defender still yet to sign for a club.
The 38-year-old center-back left Sevilla in the summer with Ramos reportedly agreeing to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Orobah, though this transfer appears to have fallen through with no official word coming out from either party.
With Inter Miami still linked with Ramos, there’s always a slight chance that the Herons could end up winning the race for the former Real Madrid superstar, who did play alongside Lionel Messi during their brief stint together at PSG.
Yet a complete surprise club could now be closing in on the signing of Ramos.

Egyptian giants Zamalek in talks to sign Sergio Ramos
According to player/agent Omar Zaalouk, Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek have made an offer to sign Ramos, with the Spanish defender believed to be open to moving to the African giants if a financial agreement can be reached.
Zaalouk said on the Inter Miami target: “Ali Hisham Nasr, the club’s marketing official, contacted me about the possibility of negotiating with Sergio Ramos. I reached out to Sergio Ramos’ brother, Rene, who is also his agent, to negotiate a transfer to Zamalek.
“Ramos did not object to playing in the Egyptian Premier League. The talks haven’t ended, but negotiations have been temporarily put on hold until the end of the Super Cup. Zamalek made an official offer to sign Ramos, but he requested a higher financial amount than what was offered, so we are trying to reach a middle ground.
“For the record, the financial difference isn’t large, and the chances of completing the deal are 50-50. I don’t know if Zamalek will handle the deal alone or if businesspeople who love the club will get involved, but for now, the deal isn’t closed, and it’s very possible it could be completed after the Super Cup.”

Ramos joining Zamalek would be a huge shock
Zamalek are one of the biggest clubs in Africa and are rightfully respected across the world as one of the most successful teams in all of soccer, yet Ramos joining the Egyptian side would be nothing short of a surprise.
With Inter Miami interested in Ramos as well as clubs from Saudi Arabia, the veteran defender opting to move to Egypt would be a huge surprise given how off the beaten path the move would be, even to a club as successful as Zamalek.
Indeed, Ramos moving to Egypt would be an unusual transfer yet one that many soccer fans would love given how obscure it is, and Inter Miami will be left wondering how they missed out on the legendary defender to Zamalek, of all teams.
