Luis Suarez will reportedly not join Inter Miami this summer, with talks over a transfer for the Gremio striker collapsing.
According to soccer transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, negotiations are over between the MLS franchise and the Brazilian giants over a move for Suarez, with Inter Miami keen on signing the Uruguay superstar.
Strong rumors have been circulating for the past few days over Inter Miami’s interest in Suarez, with Lionel Messi’s former FC Barcelona teammate seemingly keen on a move to Florida.
However, an agreement could now be reached between Inter Miami and Gremio, meaning Suarez is now most likely to make the move to MLS in 2024 when his contract comes to an end.
For fans and Messi, this news will be disappointing given how good an addition Suarez could have been for Tata Martino’s side. However, the deal collapsing could well be a blessing in disguise for the Herons this summer.
Inter Miami can afford to wait on signing Suarez

Inter Miami’s transfer business this summer has changed the entire dynamic of MLS. Yet as good a signing Suarez would be, the Eastern Conference side can afford to wait for the 36-year-old striker.
As we know, Messi is already bagging in the goals for Inter Miami as well as bringing out the best in his new teammates, and the Herons could be fine for the remainder of the season without adding Suarez.
Moreover, a deal collapsing now means Inter Miami can focus on adding to other areas of their squad that need work, namely the defense and the central midfield, with attacking width also something that could be added to.
