Former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has been approached by Inter Miami over a transfer to the club this summer.

The 37-year-old is a free agent following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain after a nightmarish two seasons, and he could follow Lionel Messi from Paris to Miami as he searches for a new club.

Ramos made 58 appearances for PSG, but suffered with injury problems and failed to make an impact in the French capital after leaving Real Madrid.

The centre-back is a legend in Spanish football, having won everything on offer with Real Madrid, Sevilla and the National team over the years, and could be the latest high-profile as Inter Miami aim to kick start their season.

Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that a number of MLS and Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in Ramos, who is yet to make a decision about his future.

Do Inter Miami need Sergio Ramos?

The side finally ended a seven game losing run with a 1-1 draw against Austin, and have conceded 29 goals in 19 games this season.

Tata Martino is set to take the manager’s job now, and has a tough task on his hands, with Miami rooted at the bottom of the table.

Ramos could come in alongside Sergio Busquets and Messi to add experience, as well as defensive solidity, and this could ensure that Miami’s leaky back line gets tightened up.

Miami have won just five out of their 19 league games this season, and without an immediate injection of quality, this poor run of form may be difficult to end.

He would likely form a partnership with former Shakhtar Donetsk star Serhiy Kryvstov at the back, with youngster Ian Fray being able to rotate in for the Spaniard.

A former Real Madrid captain lining up alongside two former Barcelona captains will certainly boost Miami’s profile amongst MLS sides, and this could help attract more stars in the long-run.
