Inter Miami could reportedly sell Argentine striker Nicolas Stefanelli after the forward wasn’t named in Tata Martino’s pre-season squad.

The Herons are set to embark on an epic worldwide tour starting off in El Salvador, with Inter Miami taking on the Central America national team with a squad including the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Yet one player who won’t be part of the squad is Stefanelli, with the 29-year-old attacker not named in Inter Miami’s travelling party earlier this week.

And now, according to La Voz, Inter Miami could now look to move on Stefanelli, with recent reports suggesting that the Florida franchise could offload some players to free up salary space.

With Inter Miami signing Suarez and Messi now fully fit and expected to be cared for, it makes sense why Stefanelli could be now put up for sale by Inter Miami.

Yet with what the Herons are trying to achieve this season, offloading Stefanelli could be a smart decision in the long-term if Inter Miami can get a good deal done.

Soccer can be a cruel sport, even more so in the US landscape when trades can be executed without permission from the players, unlike everywhere else in the world.

And for Stefanelli, being sold by Inter Miami will feel like a blow for the Argentine striker, who probably had dreams of teaming up with Suarez and Messi this season.

However, if the Miami franchise are to challenge this year, big decisions need to be made, and selling Stefanelli could prove to be the right move from the Herons depending on what happens afterwards.
