Inter Miami have been on a tear in the winter transfer window, with the Herons making six signings in total this off-season.

Maximiliano Falcon was announced as Inter Miami’s latest arrival recently with new manager Javier Mascherano working well with the transfer team to bring in top players who have the quality to take the Florida franchise to the next level.

With Inter Miami working on signing Baltasar Rodriguez from Argentine side Racing Club, the winter of spending is unlikely to end any time soon, with the 2025 MLS season kicking off later this month against New York City FC.

And the rumors continue to fly surrounding players Inter Miami are interested in, with the Chase Stadium side now believed to be in the running for one of the most exciting talents currently coming out of South America.

Inter Miami make bid to sign Ecuador wonderkid Allen Obando

According to Bola VIP, Inter Miami have launched a $3m transfer bid to sign Barcelona de Guayaquil forward Allen Obando, who at 18-years-old is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in this new generation of Ecuador wonderkids.

With nine goals and one assist for club and country this season, Inter Miami’s move for Obando feels like a direct response to the departure of Facundo Farias, who returned to Argentina last week after an injury-hit spell in Florida.

Although Inter Miami have fleshed out the attacking ranks with the likes of Tadeo Allende and Fafa Picault, the sale of Farias coupled with exits for Leonardo Campana and Matias Rojas does leave the Herons short in the forward line going into the 2025 season.

And in Obando, Inter Miami could have that player to add that extra but of bite to their attacking options, though the reigning Supporters’ Shield holders do have some obstacles in their way when it comes to actually signing the Barcelona striker.

Who else wants to sign Allen Obando?

Noted by Football Talent Scout as a ‘monsterous’ prospect, Obando looks set to become the latest wonderkid from Ecuador to make a name for himself in the wider soccer world, and Inter Miami face some big challenges if they’re to sign the teenager.

Atletico Madrid are believed to have made a bid worth $5m for Obando, whilst the striker is also wanted by the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and PSG, with RB Leipzig, VfB Stuttgart and Premier League side Crystal Palace also in the conversation.

Indeed, Inter Miami can promise Obando regular minutes and the opportunity to train with two of the greatest attackers of all time in Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, yet with top European clubs interested, it could be a challenge for the Chase Stadium side to win this transfer race.
