Inter Miami’s off season continues to ramp up.

The Herons are just two weeks away from the start of its preseason, but that doesn’t mean the roster building is complete.

“We’re looking at everything to [improve the squad.] We have high hopes for 2024, and we want to show what we can do as a club,” Henderson stated.

“Winning trophies and having high ambition is something we’ve had since day one.”

Already, Miami has added striker Luis Suarez to the squad and is in talks to bring wing back Julian Gressel to South Florida as well.

Despite the addition, the Herons are in desperate need of another center back before their preseason schedule begins.

According to Brazilian outlet, Globo, defender Victor Cuesta won’t return to Botafogo this year.

“Argentine Victor Cuesta did not return to Botafogo and is leaving the club, the article said.

“The future is not yet defined, but it could be for a club abroad or even in Brazil.”

Cuesta, 35, is on the older side, which is worrisome for an aging Miami roster. But, considering Miami’s lack of quality options at center back, Cuesta could be the player that the South Florida club is looking for.

Miami has already let go of the likes of Kamal Miller and Leandro Gonalez Pirez. The only center backs on the Heron’s roster are Chris McVey, Ian Fray, Ryan Sailor, Tomas Aviles, and Serhiy Kryvtsov.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen if Cuesta will join the team. With preseason inching closer, Miami will need to work fast to have its whole squad in place before the season starts.
