Inter Miami now monitoring ‘incredible’ player after being dropped for back-to-back games

Inter Miami may be set to add another superstar to their ranks in the coming year, having already enjoyed the arrivals of Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.

The former Barcelona trio have all been hits in Miami, with Messi particularly impressive following their signings in the summer window.

Whilst all three have done wonders for Miami and MLS as a whole, another superstar may join them, but this time coming from Real Madrid.

Midfielder Luka Modric has now been an unused substitute for Real Madrid for two games in a row, and with his contract expiring this summer, he has been linked with Tata Martino’s side.

Modric to Inter Miami?

The 38-year-old was a key figure for Real Madrid until this season, with the signings of Jude Bellingham and Brahim Diaz making the Croatian tumble down the pecking order.

AS have now claimed that his lack of minutes has meant that Inter Miami are monitoring his situation, and the midfielder recently met co-owner David Beckham in Croatia.

Modric turned down offers from Saudi Arabian sides in the summer to stay at Real Madrid, but by the end of the season if he is still struggling for minutes, he could be set to exit.

Ending the Messi reliance?

It is clear that Inter Miami are currently too reliant on Messi, and are barely able to win games without the forward’s creativity.

With this in mind, adding someone with Modric’s quality could be beneficial in the short-term at least, to help add quality to the team both alongside Messi as well as in his absence.

Age may be catching up to Modric but his ability still remains at a high level, with the midfielder being described as “incredible” last season, and securing another Ballon d’Or winner can only be good for Miami’s off-pitch objectives, if a deal can be done.
