Former Barcelona defender Jordi Alba is set to complete a move to Inter Miami, which will see him link up with former teammates Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi.
The 34-year-old is a free agent, having left Barcelona at the end of the season, and the Spain international is keen on joining his former colleagues in Miami.
Alba spent a productive 11 seasons at the Camp Nou, winning nearly every trophy on offer and making 459 appearances for the Blaugrana.
He lost his place to youngster Alejandro Balde last season, but still made 30 appearances across all competitions, but whilst he may be a big loss on the pitch and in the dressing room, it was important for the club to clear his salary from the wage bill.
A report from Bar Canaletes confirmed that Alba would be linking up with his former colleagues as he starts a new challenge in the MLS.
What can Alba bring to Miami?
Despite his age, Alba is still an active Spain international, and will arrive in the MLS in good shape having featured regularly for Barcelona in the past few seasons.
The attacking left-back ranked as one of the best in Europe for his creativity and passing ability from fullback, and he will inject some pace into the Miami back line.

As an additional attacking threat, he can provide a lot of skill on the overlap, and he will likely link up well with Messi, having provided the Argentine with 23 assists over the years.
It remains to be seen what kind of contract he will sign at Miami, but he could potentially give a few good years of service to the club, and will arrive as another high-profile Barcelona hero.
He could even be joined by Sergio Ramos and Andres Iniesta, and with Gerardo Martino set to take charge, Miami could find themselves climbing up from bottom spot in the table.
Josef Martinez’s late equaliser against Columbus saw the team pick up another point following a losing streak, and Alba’s arrival could help spell change for the club.
