Inter Miami’s center-back situation is a mess.
The Herons are gearing up for a highly anticipated season where they’re considered he favorites to win the MLS Cup.
“We’re evaluating every department in our front office and performance staff, to support [Tata Martino] and his staff and all the players to make sure we’re performing everywhere in the club,” said Sporting Director Chris Henderson.
He continued: “We’re looking at everything to [improve the squad.] We have high hopes for 2024, and we want to show what we can do as a club.”
“Winning trophies and having high ambition is something we’ve had since day one.”
Already, Miami has added striker Luis Suarez and is in the final stages of adding Julian Gressel to the squad.
However, the 2024 will go on without the help of one stud defender.
Inter Miami let go of highly-rated defender

On January 4th, Inter Miami traded fan favorite center back Kamal Miller to the Portland Timbers for $625,000 in General Allocation Money.
The move was a head-scratcher for most of the Miami fan base who loved Miller for his hustle and passion.
However, the Allocation Money that Miami received in the trade will go towards buying down other contracts on the roster, which will allow the Herons to add more talent to the squad.
Unfortunately, one player who won’t be back for Miami in 2024 was just sold to Argentine giants River Plate.

Inter Miami recently announced that defender Leandro Gonzalez Pirez left the club after River Plate picked up his purchase option.
According to TYC Sports, the fee Miami received was around $300,000. Though Gonzalez Pirez hasn’t played for the South Florida club in two years, the Herons could’ve used the defender’s services.
Ultimately, the men in pink still have more than enough time to find a replacement.
