Lionel Messi reportedly wants Inter Miami to sign Sevilla midfielder and former FC Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic.
According to El Gol Digital, the Herons captain is keen to reunite with yet another former teammate having already inspired Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and now Luis Suarez to move to Inter Miami.
And Rakitic could be the next player to make the move from Spain to Florida, with the 35-year-old midfielder expected to leave Sevilla at the end of this season.

A regular in the UEFA Champions League, the former Croatian international is regarded as one of the best midfielders through the 2010s and a key member of Barcelona’s treble-winning team from 2015.
And now, a move to MLS could be on the cards, with Messi keen to bring the veteran midfielder to reunite with Busquets in Tata Martino’s Inter Miami midfield.
Indeed, the Herons know that they need as much quality as possible in the position if they’re to challenge for MLS Cup in 2024, and signing Rakitc would do just that.
Rakitic could be a sensational signing for Inter Miami

Rakitic is one of the most decorated players in the modern era, and for a final chapter in his illustrious career, Inter Miami would make a lot of sense for the midfielder.
Moreover, the Herons themselves would be welcome to have Rakitic amongst their ranks, especially as a partner in the midfielder for Busquets.
Whilst Rakitic would be another older signing, there’s no denying the quality the midfielder would bring to the squad, with the Croatian ideal for MLS at this stage in his career.
