Inter Miami target Luis Suarez is still playing at a high level in Brazil, and could be an excellent signing, ex-Brazil star Djalminha has claimed.

The Gremio forward reportedly wants to link up with his old Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba in Miami, and a move could now happen, given that Miami have bought an extra International roster spot.

Although he left Barcelona three years ago, his talents are still on display in Brazil, and Suarez could tear up the MLS if a move can be completed.

Speaking to ESPN Brazil, the former Deportivo La Coruna star claimed that Suarez’s desire to leave could force through a move, and his performances have been impressive.

“The fans are super happy with Suarez, but what if Suarez isn’t happy? There is also the side that Suárez is wanting to make a deal. Honestly, if it’s decided behind the scenes that he won’t stay, I wouldn’t even count on him anymore,” he stated.

“I’ll say one thing: Suarez surprised me, because he’s playing at a very high level, doing things he wasn’t supposed to do.”

What could Suarez bring to Miami?

In 30 games for the club, Suarez has scored 13 and assisted nine times, and the 36-year-old is still leading the line with ferocity.

The Uruguayan has been left out of the squad for their next game, and his departure could be a blow for the Brazilian side, but his performances should fill Inter Miami fans with excitement.

Playing alongside Messi and Busquets, it is possible that Suarez could significantly increase the quality of Miami’s attack, and with the side still bottom of the Eastern Conference, he could provide the spark to start moving up the table.

He would add a focal point for Messi to play off of, and the two were lethal in front of goal when they won the Champions League together at Barcelona.

If a deal does go through, it would be yet another statement signing for Miami, and one that could help their fortunes on the pitch.
