Premier League side West Ham have reportedly made their move to sign one of Inter Miami’s most highly-rated talents.

The summer transfer window is in full flow across the world with some big-money moves in the works as we speak, with Inter Miami playing their own role in the market, namely in their pursuit to sign former Real Madrid star Raphael Varane.

With Sergio Ramos also believed to be a target for the Herons, it’s clear that the Florida franchise are ready to spend big this summer on a new defender, with Nicolas Freire currently out for the rest of the year after injuring his ACL.

Yet one Inter Miami star could be heading to the Premier League in the coming weeks.

West Ham make first contact to sign Inter Miami midfielder Diego Gomez

According to journalist Bruno Pont, West Ham have made their first move to sign Diego Gomez, with the Inter Miami midfielder already wanted by Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.

Pont wrote on Twitter: “West Ham and other Premier clubs asked about the Paraguayan, Diego Gomez. An Italian club has also appeared as interested.”

Praised by Kieran Gibbs as a ‘really impressive’, Gomez is attracting a lot of Europan interest this summer, with the 21-year-old midfielder enjoying a great year at Inter Miami even after missing the last two months due to injury.

And with West Ham now in the race to sign Gomez, Inter Miami could soon see a bidding war begin between the Irons and Brighton for the Paraguay international, which might be beneficial for the Herons.

Gomez has a big transfer decision to make this summer

Gomez clearly has a huge future in store in Europe with Premier League teams already chasing the versatile midfielder with clubs from Italy also monitoring the Inter Miami star.

And this summer, Gomez will need to make a big decision on which team he wants to join, with the Herons slowly losing their grasp on keeping hold of the 21-year-old for the rest of the window.

Indeed, Gomez has the potential to become a real star if he was to move to England, and Brighton and West Ham will be ideal landing spots for the youngsters, who can thrive in the Premier League.
