Inter Miami has laid the foundation for a successful 2024.

At the end of 2023, the Herons failed to make the playoffs, leaving them frustrated and disappointed.

Sporting Director Chris Henderson made it a point to make sure the Herons were far more competitive than they were last year.

“We’re evaluating every department in our front office and performance staff, to support [Tata Martino] and his staff and all the players to make sure we’re performing everywhere in the club,” he said in his end-of-year conference.

He continued: “We’re looking at everything to [improve the squad.] We have high hopes for 2024, and we want to show what we can do as a club. Winning trophies and having high ambition is something we’ve had since day one.”

Already, Miami has brought in those reinforcements, including striker Luis Suarez, Julian Gressel, and soon, defender Nicolas Freire.

Miami has also been linked to Boca Juniors midfielder Cristian Medina, River Plate’s Agustín Palavecino, and Botafogo’s Victor Cuesta.

Though the latter three moves didn’t happen, the transfer ambition shows that Miami wants to compete for my titles.

One player that keen on helping Miami win more silverware is forward Luis Suarez.

In his introductory press conference on January 13th, the ex-Barcelona attacker stated that the sky is the limit for the Herons.

“Why wouldn’t we dream of winning all four titles?” he said, alluding to Miami’s participation in the Leagues Cup, US Open Cup, potential MLS Cup run, and CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Before any of that happens, the men in pink must go through preseason.

Suarez will make his Inter Miami debut on January 19th against El Salvador. The organization recently released the squad list for the friendly the Uruguayan set to travel to the Central American country.
