Lionel Messi has now claimed that his move to Inter Miami has reignited his love for football, following two difficult years at Paris Saint-Germain.

Messi has already had a sensational impact at Miami, helping Tata Martino’s side win the Leagues Cup, and he has scored in every game so far.

He is helping his Miami teammates to improve their own game, and he appears to be enjoying playing, celebrating each goal with the same gusto as he did in his Barcelona days.

Speaking to Apple TV, via AlbicelesteTalk, he has now shared his delight at his move so far.

“There were two difficult years [at PSG], I had lost that feeling of enjoying playing football. My trips to the National Team were my happiest moments during that time,” he stated.

“Here in Miami I wanted to find the same thing and I found it, my happiness is with a ball.”

Messi on fire

Messi has hit an incredible vein of form after two years where he could not play his best football. Despite his age, the 36-year-old is scoring incredible goals for fun, whilst also helping the likes of Robert Taylor and Josef Martinez find their own scoring form.

He will now hope to translate this form to the domestic league, after finding such success in the cup. Miami are bottom of the Eastern Conference, and whilst a playoff place may be just out of reach, he can help the side progress up the table.

Miami won just one of their last 10 MLS games prior to Messi’s arrival, and they will aim to continue their unbeaten streak with him in the side for as long as possible.

Messi will be aiming to break every goalscoring record he can whilst at Miami, and given his blistering start at the club, no one can rule any record out.
