Inter Miami’s roster build is coming along just weeks before preseason is set to begin.
The Herons are making sure that they remedy the mistakes that plagued them in 2023, including lack of squad depth, fatigue, and recurring injuries.
Team CSO Chris Henderson stated in his end-of-year conference that Miami will be aggressive in the trade market as well as looking to refresh the roster.
“Without tipping what we’re going to do in trades, I do feel that we need to have competition in every spot,” Henderson said.
“We’re evaluating every department in our front office and performance staff, to support [Tata Martino] and his staff and all the players to make sure we’re performing everywhere in the club.”
With preseason just around the corner, the expectations on this new-look Miami side will continue to grow.
Inter Miami looks to challenge for MLS Cup

The Herons are building a roster that could challenge for MLS Cup.
Over the last week, Miami has already signed the likes of Luis Suarez and is in discussion to acquire free agent wing back Julian Gressel.
Though both of these deals took some time, the South Florida club will have two solid additions to the squad that can help them win more trophies.
In August, Miami won its first title in club history, clinching the Leagues Cup crown against rival Nashville SC.
Next season, the men in pink will have even more silverware to fight for, including the US Open Cup, CONCACAF Champions Cup, and the Supporters Shield.
This ambition is what drove the freshly announced Suarez to join the club.

In his first sit-down interview with the team, the Uruguayan spoke about his decision to join and why he believes Miami can ‘achieve great things’ in 2024.
“The best player in the world is there and that generates great expectation. After being with [Messi, Alba and Busquets] for many years, having achieved many things together, it makes us know each other well. We don’t need much time to understand each other on the pitch,” the 36-year-old said.
“I’m here to help them achieve their dreams of winning more titles, achieve great things and that Inter Miami can fight to win MLS, which is everyone’s dream.”
Inter Miami will kick off its preseason on January 19th, 2024 against the El Salvador National Team.
The Herons will start its MLS regular season on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024, taking on Real Salt Lake at home.
